Products to be Proud of.
Our products are made from full grain cowhides and other hides. Our store prides itself in creating our pieces to show the raw leather look with some jagged and imperfect perfection. Each piece bears their own unique markings, distressed spots, and any natural holes. Even though we can duplicate our products to be a similar style, no two items are ever exact, which gives you a "one of a kind" product that you can be proud of.
Waxed Canvas FAQ's & Care
Waxed canvas is naturally water resistant and more breathable than nylon and other synthetics. With use, the material can develop a wonderful burnished patina (like leather).
Waxed canvas has been used for many years without any washing or cleaning. But if you feel you must clean your bag or apron there’s a right and wrong way to do it. Most important is not to overdo it.
The bees waxed products we make are intended to be used indoors and out and are made to last. But they cannot be dry cleaned, or washed in a machine. These common cleaning processes will strip the wax away from the canvas. Just like you wouldn’t wash a pair of boots or a leather sofa, you shouldn’t wash your pack or bag.
How to Clean your Waxed Canvas Products
- Lightly brush off dried mud and dirt with a brush.
- Start with plain water for cleaning.
- A wet wash rag can be used, or you may choose to hose (rinse) the bag/apron.
Gently use a scrub brush, rinse, and let it dry.
For stubborn spots or stains a mild bar soap, flake soap, or saddle soap may help clean specific areas.
*Always test a small area first and remember; less is more.
